St Augustine Restaurants on Florida's Flavor Coast

The Flavors of Florida's Historic Coast melds in October as St Augustine restaurants come together and showcase their culinary diversity on Florida's Flavor Coast.  This is where the Old World met the New World for the first Thanksgiving feast and since then, dining experiences have continued to thrive.

Founded by the Spanish in 1565, St. Augustine continues to celebrate it's Spanish heritage with culinary traditions that have been influenced by others such as, Minorcan and Greek colonists.   Flavors of Florida's Historic Coast highlights our area  restaurants in St Augustine by offering a "Chef's Choice" prix fixe three-course meal reflecting it's unique flavor and style.  Also, Aviles Street will re-open with a transformation that will return the oldest street in the oldest city to its original 17th century authenticity - complete with sidewalk dining.  While we are talking about food, other St Augustine festivals in October include: Hispanic Heritage Festival on October 2nd,  Datil Pepper Festival on October 2nd and 3rd, 13th Annual Greek Festival on October 8th - 10th, Cracker Day on October 16th, and Octoberfest on October 23rd.

Pair great food with St. Augustine accommodation packages for the perfect recipe and a great Florida getaway.  Stay at a St Augustine bed and breakfast, where Carriage Way bed and breakfast is the better way to stay!

St Augustine Fl - Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth

This is a great weekend to visit St Augustine Fl and see Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth.  This weekend St. Augustine celebrates 445 years of existence.  Long before Pedro Menendez arrived there was a large Timucuan Village called Seloy on the grounds of the Fountain of Youth.

This weekend at the Fountain of Youth will be an encampment of Timucan Indians and 16th century Spanish soldiers as they reenact the first "Thanksgiving" in America.  Of course while here, you may also visit the Discovery Globe, Navigator's Planetarium, Indian Burial Grounds, and a Shipwreck Exhibit.
