Rhetts - St. Augustine Restaurant Opens

Rhett's Piano Bar and Brasserie, the newest St. Augustine restaurant opened this weekend adding yet another grand gem to the oldest city.  Located next door to its sister restaurant Scarlett's.  Jeanie and I attended a soft opening last Wednesday.  We both had high expectations, based upon the theme and St Augustine's history of great cuisine.  No disappointment here, we both enjoyed the decor, the upscale music, and the food was fantastic. 

Jeanie found the Lump Crab Cakes New Orleans appetizer was some of the best crab cakes she has tried and it was served over crawfish Etouffee..  She enjoyed the Organic Herb Crusted Grouper over the white truffle potato puree, finished with a smoked tomato cream and herb infused oil.  I tried the Espresso Rubbed Filet Mignon, complimented with a ancho chile sauce and served with roasted vegetables.  We topped off the evening with a Dark Chocolate Espresso Mousse, served martini style with strawberry creme anglaise. 

The evening was certainly enhanced by piano performance.  The restaurant has gathered some of the best musicians and singers in the region for a very enjoyable experience that will enhance any one's visit to St. Augustine.
