We really enjoyed our stay at the Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast. Thank you so much for the hospitality. We look forward to coming back again to get another welcoming from all of you. You were so kind and the food was delicious! It was so relaxing to sit on the porch with our coffee. The restful night was a pleasure. The breakfast with the other guests were a treat. All the little extra touches were especially nice and we will recommend you to others in our travels. Best wishes and keep up the good work!

Above and Beyond at the Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast
The first moment you let us in the front door, this lovely place, gave us a big hug. What a way to start our anniversary celebration. The Honeymoon package and sweetheart amenities were magical. I loved my pink roses and our fabulous carriage ride. In addition we enjoyed making new friends with the other guests. We believe the Lord directed us to your place. We will be back and highly recommend the Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast. You and your staff went above and beyond the call of duty! We will include you and your family, especially your dad in our prayers. May God Bless You!

Flagler College tour at the Hotel Ponce de Leon
By and far one of the best and most overlooked thing to see and do while visiting St Augustine is the Flagler College tour at the Hotel Ponce de Leon also known as the Flagler Legacy Tour. Our bed and breakfast guests are so grateful that we recommend this St. Augustine Tour.
Located across the street from the Lightner Museum the old hotel was once the winter residence of the country's famous and well to do. The St Augustine hotel was completed in 1887 and hosted many famous individuals including Mark Twain, Babe Ruth and President Theodore Roosevelt. Louis Comfort Tiffany was responsible for the interior elements of the luxury hotel and Henry Flagler's friend Thomas Edison supplied the building with electricity, making it one of the first to have it. Built before electricity this Florida hotel is loaded with hand carved wood and marble, gold light fixtures and hand painted ceilings. Flagler College students are responsible for providing the one hour tours, which occur on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily while school is in recess and at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. during the college sessions.
This is definitely a St. Augustine must see tour while visiting the oldest continuously occupied European city. We are the way to stay and the Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast is just two blocks away from Flagler College.

Our Honeymoon at the Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast was the Best
Our honeymoon here stay was the best. This was our very first time at Bed and Breakfasts and it won't be our last. The kindness shown to us here was outstanding. We had a filled weekend, but we definitely enjoyed it. The special package with the roses, picnic, breakfast in bed and the carriage ride were all memorable to us and thank you so much for the photo of us you took. We forgot our camera, so at least we got one picture of us on our honeymoon :). Again thank you so much for all that you did for us.

St Augustine FL - Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program
The Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program also known as LAMP is the leader in research, investigation and interpretation of maritime history in St Augustine FL and they have just added another feather to their cap.
The Lighthouse Museum is an amazing place to visit for maritime history and they have recently added a new exhibit that chronicles the shrimping history and shrimp boat building of St Augustine. Although the modern shrimping industry began in Fernandina Beach, St. Augustine was close to follow. Many of the exhibit items were donated by the longtime shrimp industry families of the area.
There are so many things to see and do when you travel to Florida you really should take your time and stay. Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast is the way to stay.

| Industry |
As noted in the St. Augustine Record on July 3rd, 2010 LAMP describes their most recent discovery, which is a colonial-era shipwreck one mile off the beach of St. Augustine and only 400 meters from the site where the ship "Industry" sank in 1764. This latest shipwreck could even be older. The shipwreck was found to be completely buried in the sand helping to preserve its condition. Among the items found include a couple of cast iron cauldrons, wooden planks, ballast stones, and lead shot. There is much research to be done, but the ship could date back to the early 1700's and most likely was either a warship or a merchant ship. Among other nationalities the ship could have been Spanish, British, French or Dutch. Being the Nations oldest port city, St Augustine was once known for being an extremely dangerous port due to the treacherous conditions around the mouth of its inlet.

St Augustine Colony - The St Augustine Fort
The present day Spanish Colonial Fort was built in 1672 and was completed in 1695 making it 338 years old. The Castillo or "Castle" was originally built as a fortress to protect the Spanish fleet traveling through the gulf stream carrying the precious treasures. The fortresses architecture is unique in that it was built of coquina masonry and is the oldest masonry fort in North America, a prime example of the Bastion System of fortification. The Castillo de San Marcos is open daily as re-enactors provide presentations on the life and time of the colonial period including historic weapons demonstrations on weekends and also special events. The daily tours are designed to be self-guided with exhibits, maps and historical timeline. After the sun sets participate in a haunted tour outside the Fort walls provided by a St Augustine ghost tour company.
At the end of the day it is comforting to know that your place is just a few blocks away at the Carriage Way, it is the way to stay for your Florida getaway.

A St Augustine Tour of the St. Augustine Lighthouse
If you had only had a day or two, we would recommend a St Augustine Tour of the St Augustine Lighthouse located just a mile or so from the Historic District in St Augustine fl. This Florida light house was originally built shortly after Pedro Menendez founded the oldest city in 1565.
The Spanish Government had the lighthouse built to help aide ships for safe passage to the harbor in St. Augustine, but it also aided the enemy. Sir Francis Drake, an English pirate, used the light station to guide his own ships into the city, where he pillaged and burned both the city and the tower. Find out more about the light station on a daily tour.
If you haven't climbed a light house, you can check this one off your bucket list. Visit the light house by day and enjoy the 219 steps to the top of the St Augustine Lighthouse for a spectacular view of the surrounding area. If you are not up to the climb, visit the maritime history museum located in the light keepers house. In order to avoid using a car, take a St Augustine trolley beach bus, which departs hourly to the lighthouse and museum.
Hear the stories on the St Augustine ghosts and gravestones tour as it departs nightly to the St Augustine Lighthouse. There are many Myths and Mysteries, but on this date of July 10, 1873 five children climbed into a construction cart during its reconstruction and raced out of control into the sea killing three, two of which belonged to the construction supervisor of what is now this modern day lighthouse.
After enjoying this St Augustine attraction there is nothing like waking up in your home away from home in order to experience another day at this Florida getaway.
