St. Augustine, FL - Noche de Gala
Noche de Gala is St. Augustine, Florida's premier event. It is a celebration of the 492nd Birthday of don Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, Founder and Adelantado of St. Augustine. The event will be held this Saturday, February 27th in the Lightner Museum. The Lightner Museum, formally known as Henry Flagler's Alcazar Hotel, if a beautiful setting for this special event. Menendez's Noche de Gala is a black tie event, but most of the attendees will be dreesed in 16th century attire.
Noche de Gala Invitations have also been extended to The Counsel General of Spain in Miami, mayors of Avilés and Cadiz, Spain, and to the mayor of Cartagena, Colombia – cities central to St. Augustine’s long standing Spanish tradition and heritage. Cocktails are served at 6:30 p.m. and Dinner is at 8:00 p.m. Entertainment features Menéndez, played by chad Light, 16th century musicians, heralding horns, and swordsmen. Menéndez was robust and exuberant, fond of music and a fine dancer. In fact his guests will join him in song and dance throughout the evening, culminating in shouts of “Viva Avilés, Viva St. Augustine!”
Guests visiting St. Augustine for this event will be quite comfortable staying in St. Augustine. Carriage Way is the better way to stay for Noche de Gala.

St. Augustine Alligator Farm adds Aerial Adventure to the Park
The St. Augustine Alligator Farm is adding an element of aerial adventure to the Park. If it wasn't hard enough to take the perfect picture, the alligator farm is constructing a ropes type challenge course including 7 zip line stations. This Florida adventure park will have 50 challenges when it is completed in the next month and will be the only one if its kind in the state.
We always get excited when something new is discovered and when there is something new to see and do in St Augustine. Be sure to stay here while visiting the oldest city. Carriage Way is the better way to stay!

St Augustine Inns Hosted Advertisers
The owners of the St Augustine Inns hosted a wonderful event for the advertisers on the organizations website. Our hats go off to Genie and Jeff at The Floridian Restaurant for opening their doors and providing a delicious spread for the appreciation evening.
The night was well attended by both innkeepers and advertisers. Several St. Augustine restaurants were represented including: Raintree Restaurant, Amici's Restaurant, Zhanras, Flavors Eatery Collage, Tasting Room and the Prince of Wales. Several of the St. Augustine attractions were also represented including: Ancient City Tours, Old Town Trolleys, A Ghostly Experience, Potter's Wax Museum, The Fountain of Youth, The St. Augustine Pirate and Treasure Museum and Ghost Tours of St. Augustine. St. Augustine stores were also well represented: The St. Augustine Tea and Spice Exchange, The Gifted Cork, Rembrantz and Claude's Chocolates. Other advertisers included: Flamingo Travel, A+ Airport Shuttle, Small Indulgences Day Spa, Elegant Events, The Conservatoire and Irene Arrilo of Saltwater Properties. With over 30 advertisers; I am sure I left someone out, but it was great seeing everyone who has supported the St. Augustine Inns and being able to thank them for taking such good care of our guests.
When visiting St. Augustine, FL and staying at the Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast, we would like to encourage all of our guests to visit these fine St Augustine tourism businesses and let them know that we recommended them.
