Bed and Breakfasts Provide Best Value for St Augustine Accommodations
I received an article from the May issue of Travel Weekly today from our director of tourism that touted how hotels were becoming more competitive by offering all these wonderful freebies including breakfast. After reading through the article I said to my self, we are and have always done these things for our guests. Bed and breakfasts provide the best value for accommodations.
Some of the chain hotels are putting in pancake and waffle makers at all of their locations and offering free hot breakfast. Here at the Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast we make a full breakfast, which includes homemade breads, delicious entrees, fresh fruit, homemade granola, etc. The breakfast is fit for a King and prepared from our cookbook, "Cooking with Carriage Way". Also mentioned in the article is a Manager's Reception. Many bed and breakfasts have historically offer a social hour, but we offer our guests a fully equipped refrigerator with complimentary drink choices including soda, beer and wine that is always available, just like your innkeeper. The value of an innkeeper's knowledge of area restaurants and things to see and do in St Augustine is second to none, which saves time and money, not to mention how much more enjoyable the overall experience will be during your stay.
The article mentioned how the hotels have a reputation of making their guests feel nickled-and-dimed with wifi and parking charges. The Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast offers free parking on site, wifi, newspapers, and bicycles to use. In addition to a great location, our Inn offers free business services and desserts in the afternoon and evening. Hoteliers are offering free entertainment for their guests, but the St Augustine historic district provides all the entertainment that one could ever ask for with its unique European feel.
Hotels have along way to go to catch up to the value that bed and breakfasts have always provided to their guests. Our Inn is also a proud recipient of the Superior Small Lodging "White Glove Award". When staying in St. Augustine, the Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast is the better way to stay!
