Stay in St. Augustine to celebrate
Florida's history as the city serves as a center of studies and events during the next several years. In March St. Augustine will be celebrating
Viva St. Augustine! Week, which will mark the bicentennial celebration of the Spanish Constitution. The decree of the Spanish Constitution is recognized as one of the most important events in the shaping of governments worldwide. In March of 1812, Spain called for all towns throughout the Spanish Empire to honor the Constitution with monuments and by renaming their main plazas, La Plaza de la Constitucion. Completed in 1813, St. Augustine's monument is thought to be the only known remaining Spanish Constitucion Monument.
Viva St. Augustine! week is March 19th - 24th, 2012 and will be loaded with events:
March 19th - Former President Bill Clinton will speak at the St Augustine Amphitheatre
March 21st - Grand Opening of the St. Augustine Expo Center
March 23rd - The Spanish Legacy Black Tie Event
March 24th - Spanish Grand Muster
This is a great opportunity to vacation in Florida and celebrate the rich Spanish history of our country. When looking for St Augustine accommodations,
St Augustine bed and breakfast inns are an ideal lodging choice for a location to enjoy the celebrations. Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast is the better way to stay for history!
