Stay in St Augustine for the Rhythm and Ribs Festival

Getaway this weekend and stay in St Augustine for the Rhythm and Ribs Festival this weekend April 27th - 29th, 2012.  This is one of our favorite St. Augustine festivals and you will find plenty of good food and great music all weekend long.  JJ Grey and Mofro will be the headliner on Saturday night.

The festival is located a few blocks North of the bed and breakfast at Francis Field.  Also, this weekend is the Taste of St. Augustine.  This years event will be at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.  Old Town Trolley will provide transportation service between the two events on Saturday.

Stay in St. Augustine and enjoy both events this weekend.  Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast is the better way to stay!

St Augustine Earns Top 10 Award by Forbes

Forbes magazine has named St. Augustine, FL one of the top 10 prettiest towns in America.  The exclusive list was developed for Forbes by experts at National Geographic, the Travel Channel and Fodor's.  Here is what Forbes had to say:

Founded in 1565 by Spanish explorers, St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States occupied by Europeans (take that, Jamestown!), and it remained in Spanish hands until it was traded to the British for Havana. But the town has retained much of its Spanish past in some of its homes and larger architecture. "Castillo de San Marcos, the formidable 17th-century structure built by the Spanish to defend La Florida, is the country's oldest fort, and boasts impressive turrets, a moat, and even a double-drawbridge," says Arabella Bowen, executive editorial director for Fodor's Travel. "The town's picturesque historic district is full of old-world atmosphere, historic homes, and easily explored on foot."

This is the third honor received by St. Augustine in recent months.  National Geographic selected St. Augustine this past December for one of the ten best places in the world to see holiday lights.  In January, Tripadvisor chose St. Augustine as one of the 15 vacation "hot spots" for 2012.

Stay in the downtown historic district for enjoying this unique and beautiful destination.  Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast is ideally located between the Castillo de San Marcos and Flagler College.  Carriage Way is the better way to stay!
